Jacques Neatby is one of the world’s leading experts on leadership teams.
He began his career as a labor & litigation lawyer with Stikeman Elliott, one of Canada’s premier international law firms.
Recruited in 2001 by SECOR, then Canada’s largest independent strategy consultancy (acquired by KPMG in 2012), his expertise in mediation attracts work from executive teams of industry-leading companies in North America and Europe, including Ubisoft and. Sanofi, as well as Bureau Veritas, the no. 2 player in the global testing and inspection industry (currently 60 000+ employees in 140 countries) who hired him to set up their corporate university and develop their flagship strategic alignment program for the group’s top 300 leaders.
Soon after, Bureau Veritas hired full-time as an executive. Based in Europe and reporting to a member of the group’s Executive Committee, he helped the company’s leadership teams in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific with their post-merger integration and restructuring efforts in support of their spectacular growth. Indeed, during Jacques’ time with Bureau Veritas, the company grew from 18 000 to 55 000 employees.
In 2010, he returned to consulting and North America where he was hired by Bell Canada Enterprises, the country’s leading telecom player, to be the lead consultant in the post-merger integration of CTVglobemedia, the country's no.1 media company.
In 2011, his expertise with executive teams saw Lafarge, now Holcim, the leading cement company in the world ($30 billion in revenues, 70 000 employees) hire him as a special advisor to its executive teams in Europe, Asia and North America.
He continues to work with Holcim to this day, as well with many other industry-leading companies in North America and Europe such as Marriott (global no. 1 in the hotel industry) and Randstad (global no. 1 in the recruitment and HR industry).
In addition to his consulting work, Jacques teaches at business schools in North America and Europe. From 2015-2021, he taught the leadership team module in the world’s no. 1 EMBA program as ranked by the Financial Times.
Jacques also writes on executive teams and strategy, notably for the Harvard Business Review and Business Digest.
