Matthieu Dugal holds degrees in journalism and political science. He has been working as a journalist, host, and commentator for 30 years.
From 2011 to 2018, he hosted the digital culture program "La sphère" on Ici Radio-Canada Première and was a contributor from 2014 to 2020 in Paris on the weekly socio-cultural program "400 millions de critiques" broadcast in nearly 200 countries and territories on TV5 Monde.
In 2016, he hosted the documentary series "Hackers" aired on Ici Explora.
Since 2018, he has been hosting the daily program "Moteur de recherche" on Ici Première, which celebrated its 1000th episode in April 2024.
In the summer of 2022, he launched a documentary series in collaboration with Magasin Général, where he created his digital double using generative AI, titled "To Be or Not To Be," broadcast on Ici Radio-Canada Télé and nominated for a Gémeaux Award in the "Best Scientific Series" category.
Since August 2023, he has been a daily contributor as a "head researcher" on the morning show "Tout un matin" hosted by Patrick Masbourian and broadcast on Ici Première in Montreal.
On September 20th of last year, he published his second book (after "Wiki, Gif et LSD" released in 2019 by Cardinal editions), a youth popularization book on artificial intelligence titled "AI, How Machines Could Replace Us," by La Pastèque editions, a book already translated into Italian, Spanish, and English and available throughout Europe.
