Leadership isn't the power you wield. It’s the great potential you awaken in others.

Brooke Struck, PhD is the Founder and Principal Facilitator at Converge, where he helps leadership teams transform strategy into culture. Using his Align → Commit → Transform (ACT) framework, Brooke draws out solutions from within leadership teams rather than pushing in recommendations from outside. He specializes in guiding organizations through strategic inflection points, creating the conditions for meaningful change. His clients span industries from healthcare to energy, technology to retail, and beyond.

As a writer, speaker and podcast guest, Brooke makes complex ideas easy to grasp. He uses relatable examples and vivid metaphors to turn abstract concepts into practical insights that audiences can actually use. His thought leadership over the past few years has been featured in Forbes, Vox, Bloomberg, and the Globe & Mail.

Before founding Converge, Brooke held senior roles in behavioural insights and big data consulting, bringing a unique blend of strategic expertise and applied research to his work. He holds a PhD in philosophy of science (and a Master's in bowties).

EXPERTISE:

  • LEVERAGING COLLECTIVE LEADERSHIP TO CONSISTENTLY DELIVER IN COMPLEX, DYNAMIC ENVIRONMENTS

Have you ever been in a situation of crisis, wondering when super-heroic leadership (either from yourself or others) would emerge? When organizations face complexity and rapid change, we instinctively look for the appearance of the Great Leader: someone with The Answers who will guide us through uncertainty.

Today’s interconnected and fast-moving environment has exposed the limitations of this mindset. When we rely solely on leadership from above, we create bottlenecks that slow decision-making and overlook the collective wisdom distributed throughout our organizations. And our expectations of heroic perfection cause us to overlook the leadership potential that each of us brings to the table.

During my experience leading high-stakes pandemic response initiatives, I discovered my most profound leadership insight when I realized that the great leaders we were looking for had been there all along. Through practical frameworks and real-world examples, I’ll show how embracing collective leadership—where everyone contributes to an emerging shared vision, without feeling that they need to “command”—enables organizations to maintain both speed and coherence in even the most challenging circumstances, and helped our pandemic project to go further than any of us expected.

After attending my presentation, you will be able to:

    • Find effective focus, even amidst chaos: Structure organizational energy toward value-creating priorities, rather than dispersing efforts

    • Build shared understanding: Ensure all team members have mastered critical context for aligned action

    • Move quickly without coming apart: Maintain cohesion while accelerating decision-making and execution

    • Act as one, without micromanaging: Achieve coordinated autonomy where individual actions strengthens rather than fragments strategy

    • Cultivate organizational resilience: Develop distributed leadership capabilities that serve daily operations, succession planning and crisis response

  • CALIBRATING DECISIONS TO CONFIDENCE, TO BUILD ADVANTAGES AMID UNCERTAINTY

Have you ever been looking to make a decision but just felt like you were drowning? When facing uncertainty and high stakes, we naturally want more data, more consultation, and more time, seeking the clarity that these inputs promise.

But in today’s rapidly changing environment, this approach has become increasingly costly. While we gather information, waiting for the right path to become clear, existing information gets stale, new information emerges, opportunities pass by, risks compound, and our teams lose momentum. The most successful organizations have discovered that action itself often provides more clarity than additional analysis.

During my entrepreneurial journey, I learned that the most powerful breakthroughs came when we were willing to move forward despite incomplete information: when we focused on options that showed promise even if we couldn’t tell which was “the optimal one,” when we set guardrails for what was safe to try, and when we discovered that we advanced the most when we were right at the edge of discomfort. Through practical frameworks and real examples, I’ll show how calibrating your decisions to your level of confidence—rather than waiting for certainty—creates strategic advantages that competitors miss while they’re still analyzing.

After attending my presentation, you will be able to:

    • Avoid decision paralysis before it sets in: Establish relevance filters that prevent information overload while maintaining situational awareness

    • Assess status-quo dangers: Identify hidden risks in maintaining current trajectories, which cognitive biases often obscure

    • Face uncertainty while managing risk: Create decision frameworks that enable forward movement with appropriate safeguards

    • Build confidence in un-knowing: Develop emotional regulation practices and curiosity that transform uncertainty from paralyzing to energizing

    • Leverage decisiveness to create value: Capitalize on opportunities that emerge specifically during periods of change and disruption

  • BUILDING MUTUAL COMMITMENT TO DRIVE CHANGE ADOPTION AT EVERY LEVEL

Have you ever watched a promising change initiative, launched with a solid plan and initially garnering enthusiasm, end up losing momentum? It’s a frustratingly common experience. In today’s climate of constant change, we want to move fast and give people clarity, avoiding the watered-down concessions typically associated with broad engagement. Yet the result has been a revolving door of organizational change initiatives, meagre results to show for it, and teams who are exhausted by this fragmentation of efforts and cynical about successful change.

Through partnerships with diverse organizations navigating transformation, I’ve discovered that sustainable change emerges from mutual commitment and structured moments of integration. Deploying curiosity, team members demonstrate a commitment to each other, while co-creating an agreement that integrates their contributions without getting watered down. The result: teams & leaders commit to the mission and to each other.

These principles translate into practical approaches that you can implement immediately. Using concrete examples and practical tools, I’ll demonstrate how creating genuine two-way commitment transforms resistance into insight, skeptics into advocates, and challenges into opportunities for deepening shared resolve.

After attending my presentation, you will be able to:

    • Design collaborative approaches: Create inclusive processes that build ownership while maintaining momentum toward results

    • Create engagement & ownership: Foster deep psychological investment where participants advocate for initiatives they helped to shape

    • Find insight in resistance: Extract valuable perspective from opposition, without compromising strategic direction

    • Convert skeptics into champions: Transform the organization’s most discerning critics into powerful advocates for change

    • Use adversity to strengthen resolve: Leverage challenges as opportunities to learn as a team, strengthening our bonds of commitment rather than fraying them
